Two Seater

Privacy Policy

Effective: July 2026 · Last updated: July 2026

The short version

This policy explains how the Two Seater app ("Two Seater," "we," "us"), published by Symmetry Logic, handles information when you use it. Two Seater is a collection of games you can play on your own or with a second player on a nearby phone.

Information we process

Playing with a second phone (two‑player games)

When you start a two‑player game, the app connects your two phones so you can play together. To set up that connection it uses a temporary "room" identified by a short code, and it exchanges the technical details two devices need to find each other — including network connection information such as IP addresses (delivered as WebRTC "ICE candidates"). This setup information is stored briefly in a Google Firebase Realtime Database to broker the connection and is removed once the game is connected or ends. To help your phones locate each other, the app also uses a public "STUN" server operated by Google.

Once connected, gameplay (moves, positions, and similar) is exchanged directly between the two devices — over the internet peer‑to‑peer, or over Bluetooth / your local network — and is not stored on our servers. A display name you choose may be shared with the other player so they can see who they're playing with.

To secure this connection setup, the app signs in anonymously to Firebase. This anonymous sign‑in does not involve any name, email, or account, and isn't tied to your identity.

Analytics and crash reporting

To fix problems and understand which games people enjoy, Two Seater collects a small amount of anonymous usage and diagnostic information using Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics). This includes:

This information is associated with an app‑generated identifier, not with your name or Apple Account, and we use it only to improve Two Seater. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Word Vector

The Word Vector game figures out how close your guesses are in meaning to a hidden word. To do this, the words you guess (and the target word) are sent to our word‑similarity service over a secure connection, which returns a similarity score. These are just words from the game — no personal information is included.

App integrity

The app uses Apple's and Google's app‑attestation technology (Firebase App Check with App Attest) to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of Two Seater and to protect our services from abuse. This produces a device‑integrity token; it does not identify you.

On your device

Two Seater saves some things locally on your device so the app works the way you expect — for example, your game progress and level, high‑score streaks, and your settings and preferences. This stays on your device. Deleting the app removes it.

Purchases

If you buy a game or bundle, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive or store your payment details. The app records only whether a purchase is unlocked, which you can restore at any time using Restore Purchases.

Game Center

If you use Apple Game Center features (such as leaderboards), scores you choose to submit are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Game Center is optional and controlled by your device settings.

What we don't do

Third‑party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to make the app work:

How long information is kept

Two‑player connection details (room code, connection info) are temporary and removed once the game connects or ends. Word Vector requests are used to return a score and are not used to build a profile of you. Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by Google Firebase for a limited period in line with Google's retention settings and are used only in aggregate to improve the app. On‑device data stays until you clear it or delete the app.

Children's privacy

Two Seater is family‑friendly and does not ask anyone to provide personal details such as a name or email. The limited, anonymous usage and diagnostic data described above is not used to identify anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll address it.

Your choices and rights

Because Two Seater doesn't create accounts or build profiles, there's very little personal information for us to hold. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. To make a request or ask a question, email us at the address below and we'll help.

Security

Connections use standard encryption (such as HTTPS/TLS and WebRTC's encrypted transport). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect information appropriately for a game of this kind.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
